Adjectives (adjetivos) are words used for description. They describe nouns (nombres).

There are two important rules that you need to know about adjectives in Spanish:
1. We normally place them after the noun.
2. They mirror the noun's gender and number.
El jersey rojo (the red jumper)
La falda roja (the red skirt)
Los pantalones rojos (the red trousers)
Las zapatillas rojas (the red slippers)
Adjectives can be the predicate (el predicado) of the sentence (la oración):
El jersey es rojo (the jumper is red)
La falda es roja (the skirt is red)
Los pantalones son rojos (the trousers are red)
Las zapatillas son rojas (the slippers are red)
